Large Garden Statues

August 13th, 2009

As mentioned in the previous article, garden statues come in different sizes. The more impressive and the more attention seeking garden statues are usually those large garden statues.

Large garden statues are not to be used as accents to your garden landscape design. In fact, sculptures this big should be the focal point of your design. Your overall theme should revolve in the theme or concept of your large garden statue. If you had something like this in your landscaping plans, then it would be easier for you to complete your designs because all your ideas would be revolving around your large garden statue as the subject of both your design and layout.

The one biggest and most important consideration that you would have to make when including something this big in your plans is the space of your garden as well as the maximum size of the garden statue that you could include.

If that sculpture is too big in a relatively small space, it would more likely be considered as a hindrance and a waste of space than an important focal point of your garden. If it is too small relative to the wide area, its significance might not be felt or emphasized, depending on where you place it.

In terms of themes, there are various themes for large garden statues available. You could find large sculptures depicting religious figures and themes, mythical creatures, Classical sculptures, modern art works and more.

There are even large fountains that would definitely be considered as an impressive part of any landscape design. Big houses are already impressive by simply being big, but if you include a huge fountain with minor sculptures in them or around them, then that would certainly be a site to see.

When adding these large garden sculptures in your garden, just always be careful in determining the maximum size of the statue that you want to include in relation to your garden space as well as the over all theme of your landscape design plan.
