With the rising popularity of Zen influenced designs, Japanese garden statues have become known and popular as well. These sculptures range from intricate Buddha statues to simple yet effective stone lanterns and such.

You coud see a lot of these Japanese statues nowadays because they are very easy to use and they are very relaxing to look at. Usually these kinds of statues are used as accents to minimalist landscape designs more than focal points.

The harmony of the elements within the given space is more important the statue itself when it comes to Japanese style gardens. The type and size of plants, the fountains or fishponds, the flowers and even the minutest of pebbles should coordinate well with the rest of the garden to make create that harmonious ambience.

Usually, the Japanese garden sculptures are added to emphasize the theme. And it should work well especially when you can layout and compose the whole garden design properly. If ou are successful in doing so, you will be able to create a peaceful looking garden that would be very inviting for you, your family and your guests.

Japanese garden statues come in different sizes and materials. But whether the statues are big or small, you can see that they have a great impact on the total outcome of the landscaping design. This is because every element of a Japanese garden style, regardless of its size is important in the total harmony of the composition.

If I were to name a favorite in terms of gaden landscape themes, I would probably name Japanese gardens. It is not an easy task to do because you have a lot of elements to consider but playing and matching the trees with the garden statues and the pebbles and sands and grass is a fun thing to do especially when you can come up with a perfect Japanese garden design.

Buddha Garden Statues

August 13th, 2009

You don’t have to believe in Feng Shui or to be a Buddhist to appreciate Buddha garden statues. They have a certain appeal in them that makes garden designs and landscape designs look serene and inviting.

When you read the word Buddha, you would most likely be thinking of the fat, bald Oriental man sitting down looking serious while meditating. Well, you are not entirely wrong for thinking that way since this is the usual depiction of Buddha by the media and by popular culture. But actually, there are other Buddhas out there. There are actually thin Buddhas and happy and jolly Buddhas.

By mixing and matching these different kinds and forms of Buddha, you could create a landscape design that looks really great. You could make them work in such a way that aside from looking serious and peaceful, your surroundings could look festive through the use of Buddha garden statues.

These come in different sizes as well. There are huge statues that would occupy a lot of space. This is probably inadvisable since large Buddha statues are literally large.

There are small and medium sized ones that are great to include in Zen themed garden designs. They add to the serenity of the place which would most likely help in your relaxation during your down time.

Whether you are a Buddhist or not, these garden statues are great accents to any garden as long as they fit your theme. Try considering these statues in your plan and maybe you could come up with something different and interesting.
